Assignment 7 - Final Project

Originally I had this awesome Daleks, Cybermen, or Loan Shark "use your family member as collateral" poster... but I'm seriously broke. I barely have enough to come to the school for two days out of the week. Which resulted in not being able to pay for the monthly 21.21to use Adobe Creative Suite. And since I forgot to save my files in CS3 format before closing the application I'm not sure if I could even access the files and resave them now that my subscription / due date is over.

Anyways I had to change my idea last minute (sometime last week) and made a logo (for a fake company.)

Here's the general idea - Weeping Angels (from Doctor Who) have the ability to throw people back in time. They feed off of the energy surrounding the time jumpers' bodies in order to stay alive. They have even gone so far as to lure potential people into a hotel/apartment prison by invitations then have them see themselves on their deathbed dying of old age before throwing them back in time.

 The first draft of the design was a bit off... trust me I went over the design so many times while in the back of my head I was thinking "can this logo stand on its own in BW?"

Which resulted in the above image... the other four gears are white so its not well suited for a white background and 50 - 90% Black didn't match either. So I changed it to a simple all BLACK design.

The lettering is my terrible handwriting with a mouse and brush tool in Illustrator mixed with various sizing on a brush pattern. I made sure to expand the appearance so the strokes would become paths before tweaking them once more at a largely zoomed in degree.

Pushing it a tiny bit further with trying to turn the logo into a red waxed seal mark resulted in this -

The original design was more freeform waxy edged circle but by mistake I erased that one resulting in this one which I should've seriously tried morfing with the previous one into a more realistic one. Maybe when I find the time over break after doing a few little one day jobs here and there.

This is the best I could do in the tiny amount of time I had with very little planning. It was a panicked thought. I made this in thought of Paul Walker joining the angels ^^' but didn't want to straight out say this so I changed the first name.
