For the mock up I decided to do a wonderland/harry potter parody (I think that's the word you would use to describe this idea) candy potion bottle thing.
It was going to be 6 little triangular black boxes with special little illustrations around the box to match each character. I wish I could bevel or emboss the paper but I don't know how they do that and it wouldn't be very effective if i tried doing it by hand.
So far I have little tiny rough note sketches of each design. They are going to be the same only different on each box. And I'm still trying to work out the little problem I have with compound paths.
Just need to scan in my tiny sketches. And then start illustrating and arranging the pieces in a pattern.
I can see it all in my head but I haven't had the time to put it down on the computer and my drawings are too little and scribbly to understand.
The darker one is the original one I was aiming for but Chad pointed out it needed more contrast thus we have the lighter more cheery version below.
Here's some variations on the colors for the "other" flavors...
Purple = Cheshire Cat
Brown = Mad Tea Party
Green = Red / White Queens
Somehow I still think the darker colors match a lot more than the bright cheery ones... wonderland is a bright cheery place with a scary dark underside to it.
This is the FINAL FINAL design! It took sometime tweaking the project over and over so many times after printing, tracing, and folding. This is the last one out of the many variations and redesigns.
For sure I'm going to make more "flavors" designs to go with this SIX part candy series sometime in the future for my ultimate portfolio.
Here's the physical mock up in versions conditions...
