Assignment 1 - Find Design

So, just found out our first assignment (the email/blog would be considered our first assignment... so I guess it will be referred to as "Assignment 1/2.") This assignment is one that we all know and freak out about love! We tear apart an innocent magazine or two, take out all the full page ads, and sort through them to select ones that we think shows some of the principals/elements of design and Gestalt.

Then we trace over the main shapes and blocks of word(s) or type on a sheet of tracing paper with a Sharpie marker (preferably black.) And TA-DA we're finished!!!

Only this time we are required to write our first descriptive essay about the ad(s) - its only plural if you are in more than one of Chad's classes - and post the document link to this page along with your original ad and the traced one.

I finished half of the assignment last night :< just have to do the other half now (essay part.) I'll post my ad, trace, and essay I picked out on here later on tomorrow.

Please excuse my bad photo taking skills... My hand wouldn't stop shaking and the lighting from outside was bad since it started raining. I tried to access the blog to check how it should look BUT I kept getting a stupid error saying too many redirect errors. So I just decided to post the images on this page. The one on the left is the original ad and the one on the right is the tracing paper. I shall add the link to the essay below within the hour.
